What should I bring with me?2024-10-14T17:15:57-05:00

Bring your clothing, phone, tablet, or computer, along with any medications and personal care items you’ll need. You’ll also need to provide your own food. Evergreen Sober Living will supply bedding, towels, and pillows, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

It’s also helpful to bring items like a headlamp, sleep mask, shower caddy, and a laundry bag or hamper. For more details, check out: Things to Bring Details

Animals are on a case-by-case basis and require a non-refundable $500 pet fee. Speak with a member of our team to learn more.

We supply each resident with a one-month starter welcome package, including toiletries, shampoo, etc.

What happens if I can’t pay my equal expense share (EES)?2024-10-14T17:11:23-05:00

Paying your EES is required, just like any other rental agreement. A late fee may apply for each day the payment is overdue. If your payment is more than a few days late, you may be asked to leave.

How long can I stay at Evergreen Sober Living?2024-10-14T17:07:48-05:00

You are welcome to stay as long as you need. However, we do ask for a minimum stay of 30 days to fully benefit from the program.

What happens if I relapse and use substances?2024-10-14T17:07:16-05:00

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol or drug use, possession, weapons, violence, and sexual contact. If you engage in any of these behaviors, you will be asked to leave. However, following a relapse, you may be eligible to return after completing detox. If reentry is permitted, a readmission fee may be required to rejoin the house.

Which medications are allowed or not allowed?2024-10-14T17:06:14-05:00

We rely on scientific research to determine which medications are safe for individuals in recovery. Medications that are addictive or habit-forming are generally discouraged and most controlled substances are not permitted. Some medications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to go to detox or treatment before moving in?2024-10-14T17:04:07-05:00

Not necessarily. We understand that everyone’s recovery journey is unique. While we prefer at least 7 days of sobriety/clean time before moving in, we will consider your situation as long as you can pass a drug and alcohol test on or before your move-in date.

Can I stay overnight elsewhere? What about holidays and vacations?2024-10-14T17:02:21-05:00

As you enter Phase II of our program, you can take 1 overnight pass per month. Vacations and holidays are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on where you’ll be, who you’ll be with, how long you’ll stay, and whether the situation could impact your sobriety. For your safety, we ask that you stay at the house every night during the first 30 days.

What are my daily responsibilities as part of the house community?2024-10-14T14:09:36-05:00

You will need to be working, actively looking for work or volunteering. Additionally, you’ll be expected to contribute to the upkeep of the house and show respect toward yourself and others as a member of the community.

Do you require a background check? What could prevent my acceptance?2024-10-14T14:07:47-05:00

Yes, we conduct thorough background checks to ensure the safety of all residents. We are legally prohibited from admitting individuals with violent felonies, sexual offenses, or arson convictions on their records.

Can I see the house before I move in?2024-10-14T14:05:04-05:00

Absolutely! Just schedule an appointment with us, and we’ll be happy to give you a tour of your new home.

Can I bring my car?2024-10-14T13:31:18-05:00

What if I’m on disability and unable to work? Do I still need to work?2024-10-14T13:16:28-05:00

We understand that every woman’s situation is unique, and not everyone will have the same abilities. Our goal is to help you build an independent sober lifestyle that suits your individual needs. Everyone deserves access to a supportive sober living environment, and we can tailor your program accordingly. If you’re on disability, there are other meaningful ways you can spend your time, such as volunteering or engaging in productive activities that contribute to your well-being and the community. If you are able, we do ask that you participate in work, volunteering, or school for at least 30 hours a week.

Can I come and go as I please?2024-10-14T13:28:05-05:00

You have some flexibility during the day, but a curfew must be followed. Overnight stays require staff approval to ensure structure and accountability.

Do I need permission to stay overnight elsewhere?2024-10-14T13:28:14-05:00

Yes, overnight stays require prior approval from the staff to ensure safety and structure for everyone.
